"FileBack PC is getting old and should be updated" |
Beta releases of FileBack PC are set to automatically prompt the user to
download updated versions of the product 120 days after the release date.
We have added this to the program to offer reminders that the product is a beta
product, and that by the time the message is displayed a newer version, with new
features and bug fixes, will be available.
We always recommend that all customers take the opportunity to update their
software. Each release of FileBack PC is more reliable than its
predecessor, and in most cases we will no longer offer support for old beta versions. When asked if you want to update your software, we highly
recommend that you do so.
However, in some cases we do realize that it is not possible, or inconvenient
to do so. If you indeed do need to continue using an old version, you can
disable this message by creating an empty file (using Windows notepad, or
whatever application you like) called NOBETA.DAT and saving it in the FileBack
PC program directory, normally C:\Program
Files\FileBack PC. This will also hide all messages indicating that
the software is a beta release.
